Good landscapes
begin with people.
Paul Downer founded Oak View Landscapes in 2004. His formal training at Writtle College and the Institute of Directors helped shape a business built around landscape construction and project management.
We’re based near Colchester, working at the bespoke end of the domestic and commercial markets. Our people are at the heart of the work.
A proud landscaping heritage
Paul is a former main Board Director of the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI). Oak View was a double award winner at the BALI Landscape Awards in 2006.

“The newly laid lawn at our new build was a complete mess and is now looking fabulous thanks to James and his colleague. They worked tirelessly even though it was one of the hottest days of that month.”
“James and Adam were excellent from start to finish. Professional, reassuring, and clearly take pride in what they do. They promised to put it right and give us a lawn to be proud of and they delivered exactly that.”
“Paul and James Downer and the team at Oak View Landscapes consistently deliver outstanding workmanship and professionalism. Their experienced crews, strong project management and commitment to quality show in every project. It’s no surprise they continue to receive national BALI recognition.”
